Leicester Belgrave Mela, in association with Lebara Mobile, is a colourful mix of live music, dance, fashion, exotic foods, ethnic arts and crafts, community performances, entertainment and cultural activities. The unique, outdoor, one-day spectacular South Asian Arts & Culture Festival will take place in Leicester City Centre on Sunday 18th July 2010. The festival is split into a number of main areas: Humberstone Gate which is host to the Mela Entertainment Stage, Gallowtree Gate home to the Mela Arts Zone, the Clock Tower welcomes the Mela Opportunity Stage and finally Leicester Markets transforms into the Mela Bazaar .                                                                         

The main entertainment stage will boast a glittering mix of live performances from the biggest stars on the Asian music scene, including Eastenders and Bend it Like Beckham actress Preeya Kalidas, as she launches her pop career with her first live UK performance. She'll be joined on stage by singing sensations H Dhami and Mumzy Stranger, along with superstar producer Rishi Rich. Plus rising star Jernade Miah will be strutting his stuff alongside a host of acts to be announced over the next few weeks.
