Event Details

This year Pratham UK’s annual Gala ARTiculate is to take place at Old Billingsgate Market, London on

September 11th, 2010. Pratham is India’s largest educational NGO committed to bringing literacy to
India’s 100 million children who cannot read or write. It is one of the few NGOs that is scalable and
can make a difference to the country as whole through raising its level of literacy. Its success has
been recognised internationally with awards from the Henry Kravis Foundation, Hewlett Foundation,
Eureka Foundation, Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, CNN-IBN awards in India and many others.
The Pratham Gala is one of the most sought after events on the London social calendar and brings
together high profile international guests including some of the beacons of Indian industry, who come
together in support of literacy. ARTiculate will be an art inspired evening and will embody the bold
and creative spirit of the Pratham child while promising to inspire, educate and entertain. The world’s
largest paper chandelier “The Light”, which has been created by over 8,000 children across India will
adorn the ceiling of the Old Billingsgate Market.
